This boy looks like he is really concentrating on the game and dreaming of playing in the big league, some day. I love his face and I was wanting to do a portrait, so, here he is. Pastels on approximately 11×13 velour paper.
And, during these last few weeks, my feeling, which is expressed by Jane Austen in her wonderful book, Emma, has been verified many times.

He’s intense! Love it. Interesting quote too. Wasn’t Mrs. Elton somewhat of a bubble-brain? Leave it to Jane to remind us that even a bubble brain can hit the nail on the head sometimes. 🙂 There’s hope for guys like me!
I believe that Mrs. Elton was Emma’s former nurse. My beloved brother, you are in need of a Jane Austen marathon. Or I am. Or both. LOL!
I was wrong. Yes, Mrs. Elton was married to the smarmy vicar. We still need a Jane Austen marathon. 😍
Just finished a P&P weekend last w/e in YOUR honor!!
Oh, I wish you guys had been here for it. 😎
