Photo Walks

I am trying to work myself up to taking a nice long photo walk every day or at least every weekday and I have been on a few, lately.

On Monday, the 12th, I went to the Newark Earthworks, which is in the previous post.  On Tuesday, we walked on the Kokosing Gap Trail in Mount Vernon:

Then on Wednesday, we went to the Kokosing Gap Trail in Howard and took some nifty photos of the tunnel, among other things:

On Thursday, I was iced in and played around with taking photos through the windows and from the back deck:

Skipped Friday and on Saturday, Mr. Beloved and I went to Gambier and I shot photos while Mr. Beloved and the Wonder Dog wandered around.  Then we walked the trail.  I got a few shots on the trail, but nothing wonderful.  But, the train photos!  Now, that was a whole other story:

I had set up the shot and focused on the caboose.  After taking one shot, I asked Mr. Beloved to pose for me and then I forgot to change the focus to him.  LOL!  So, that is why he is fuzzy and the caboose is not.  I am still learning…

Okay, I am planning on walking, today, if the ice melts and it is not raining when I am ready to go.  We will see.  We are having beloved visitors for Thanksgiving and so I probably will not post again until next week.

May you all have a wonderful holiday with loved ones and overwhelming gratitude to our Heavenly Father for all his blessings and benefits to us who do not deserve anything good.

Oh come, let us sing to the Lordlet us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!  Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!  For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.  In his hand are the depths of the earth; the heights of the mountains are his also.  The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.  Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord, our Maker!  For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.

  1. I for one am thoroughly enjoying your posts and photos. It is nice to be able to see the trails and things on the trail without having to actually get out there myself. What kind of fancy camera do you have?

    1. Thanks! I have the enviable privilege of owning a Kodak EasyShare Z981. LOL! I used to think I could never take good photos, because of my cheapo little camera. But then I heard someone say, “It is not the camera that gets the great shots, it is the photographer.” So, I determined to learn. 😊

  2. Ginny,
Your photos are incredible! I enjoyed looking at them very much! Very professional! You might need to change your business name to art AND photography. 💕
    Have a blessed day.

    1. You have an eye for the right photo from the right angle…the colors!!! I saw sleet , the lines of the train track and crossing sign intersect..the colors that are still out there even though the leaves have faded…the squirrel …thinking he’s hidden, the Y in the branches of the tree, all make each shot interesting….great to be able to capture so much in an afternoon walk…Beloved in charge?Enjoy…and keep on walking and …..clicking! 3. The train looks great! It’s in really good condition. And the wonder dog. He is a magnificent specimen of a wonder dog.

  4. Ginny, Your learning FAST. Your pix are fantastic. Brilliant composition (where possible) and incredible depth of field. I agree photography is an art. So you should change your name to “Fine Arts” (plural). (^o^) Great work… and on a variety of subject matter.
